I am a passionate and motivated graphic and interactive designer relocating to sunny California. I have a special interest in Motion Graphics and have recently dove further into the world of web design and user interface. I have a passion for learning as much about my field as possible and I am always keeping up with new industry standards. Creative problem solving is my niche. I find myself to be as equally analytical as I am creative and use this to my designing advantage. I work great in teams and love bouncing ideas off of my team members. I also work well on my own and enjoy taking a project and running with it. I have been told by previous supervisors that I work quickly and efficiently while remaining detail-oriented. I work hard but love to have fun. I am a quick learner and work well under pressure in high paced environments. I am energetic and most importantly I put everything I have into everything I do.
I find it quite difficult to define myself as having one style or vision. Because of this coming up with branding to represent my own identity proved quite difficult. Through trial and error I decided that I really wanted to use a 3D logo. As I have a passion for motion graphics I wanted something that had motion and fluidity to the shape representing my change in styles as a person and a designer. I chose a teal blue color pallet for a few reasons. Firstly being that if there is anything that you could pin my style to it is the color blue. It is a very veristile and friendly color that I find myself coming back to often. Again, using this color along with the shape of my logo it adds to the concept of my design.
Christopher Nolan has a very unique and concise style as a director. His films are all very different stories and though his skills and style have developed over the years, his movies are still distinctive to him as a director. I came up with a conceptual design for a collector's special edition boxed set of four of his films. Memento, The Prestige, Inception and Interstellar. The set included a blu-ray disc for each film as well as a download to an interactive app. Because the movies come from different points in time, they all have very different styles of branding. The films needed to be rebranded to suit this limited edition collection. I chose to have very clean-cut designs using a gray-scale color pallet and simple imagery to create a cohesive limited edition collection of the four films. This minimalistic look helps to tie the movies together but still allows them to stand individually as strong films.
Roasted Canvas is a Coffee Shop Art Gallery with an eclectic taste. Using both neutral tones and a splash of color (literally) I was able to capture the vibes of this cozy and trendy cafe. The splash can be seen as both a paint splatter and a splash of coffee and I used negative space to give an abstract shape of a coffee cup and even snuck in a bass clef for the handle of the mug as Roasted Canvas also hosts live music. The branding is very adaptive and can be used across packaging, stationery and much more.
Voyager Chocolates is an all natural organic chocolate made with coffee that is brought from the same region in which the cacao beans are from. The cocoa and coffee are paired with flavors that accentuate the natural flavors and aromas of the coffee beans used. I chose to go with a rustic look that hinted at traveling. The labels feature the name of the chocolates paired with the region in a stamp that could be seen in a passport or on a postcard. I also added pictures iconic of the regions in which that chocolate is from. The colors were chosen to represent the favors used in the chocolates as well. I then carried this branding over to create two adds that could be seen in magazines.
Natural disasters occur frequently and without notice around the globe everyday. Brace Yourself is a non-profit organization that helps to bring awareness, education, and preparedness to those living in natural disaster prone areas. I wanted to use bright colors to help grab attention of the audience. Assuming learning materials would be used in schools, red cross oraganizations, and YMCA's around the US the bright friendly colors will help to attract the audience while the vibrant red indicates the seriousness and danger of these disasters. I created a 3 part poster series, a brochure, and a preparedness kit for Brace Yourself.
Inspired by Annie Leibovitz's Disney Dream Portrait Series, I created a series of self-portraits using photography, illustration, and digital collage. I placed my self in fansty-like environments in outfits I hand illustrated inspired by my favorite Disney Princesses. This series captures a world inside my head based around stories and movies I am truly passionate about. My free-spirit is captured in every image.
I created a Christopher Nolan 4-Disc Special Collector's Edition of his films, Memento, The Prestige, Inception and Interstellar. I chose a monochrome feel to make the films cohesively fit together into one collection. Along with creating the branding and packaging, I also created a trailer for the entire collection, Blu-Ray menus that would play when the discs are inserted to the Blu-Ray player, and an app that allows the viewer to interact with the film by playing trivia or watching interviews. This reel showcases all of these additions to the project.
This reel features work I created while in school. First is a candle I created in Illustrator and then animated in After Effects. Following the candle is a 3D Logo created in Cinema 4D for a TV show called Battle Prank. Also included is an animated logo for The Save Point, a gaming show on Monmouth University's TV Network. Following this are clips from a commercial I created for Battle Prank showing various editing and animation skills. Next is a clip from a commission job I worked on for Asbury Park's Convention Hall. I animated a galaxy scene and created an ice planet in Cinema 4D for a 12 minute long winter themed animation projected in Convention Hall for the entire Winter Season. At the end I added in various intro slates I created for a YouTube channel for different times of the year and special videos.
From May 2015 through January 2016 I was fortunate enough to have the oppurtunity to work with ABC Televion's creative services department as a motion graphics intern. Throughout my internship I created the graphics for two important sizzle reels including one showcasing the upcoming season on ABC and one showcasing all the hit shows on all of Disney's networks. Aside from this I was responsible for creating animations that were shown on multiple supersigns during Advertising Week in a "Times Square Takeover".
